What is 'eMedia Bag'?
When you come across an available title that you may want to check out, you can click 'add to eMedia Bag' to place the title in your personal eMedia Bag. Placing a title in your eMedia Bag is like placing it on temporary reserve; as long as the title is in your eMedia Bag, it will remain available for you to check out. Please note that the system will
automatically remove a title from your eMedia Bag 30 minutes after you have placed it there, making the title available to other patrons at your library.

How many titles can I have in my eMedia Bag at the same time?
Our system allows you to put up to 37 titles in your eMedia Bag at the same time. If you have decided against checking out a particular title, you can click the 'remove' link to pull it from your eMedia Bag. Please note that the system will automatically remove a title from your eMedia Bag 30 minutes after you have placed it there, making it available to other patrons at your library.

How long will a title in my eMedia Bag remain there?
Once you add a title to your eMedia Bag, it will remain there for 30 minutes. Once 30 minutes have elapsed, the title will be automatically returned to the collection, making it available to other patrons at your library.

When I check out a title, for how many days do I get to keep it?
The lending period can vary from title to title; the lending period for each item is clearly displayed with other details about the title.

Once the lending period is over, what happens to the title I checked out?
You do not need to return a borrowed item. Once the lending
period has elapsed, the title is automatically 'returned' to the library. Although the file(s) will remain on your machine, the file(s) will no longer be accessible. Please review the instructions below for deleting your titles after they have expired.
To delete an expired Adobe® eBook file using Adobe® Digital Editions…
- Open Adobe Digital Editions.
- Select the 'Library View' icon (in the upper left corner).
The Adobe Digital Editions library is displayed.
- Under the 'Bookshelves' heading, select 'Borrowed'.
- Click the desired eBook.
- Click the 'Item Options' arrow (in the upper left corner of the selected eBook).
- Select 'Delete Item'.
To delete an expired Adobe eBook file using Adobe Reader® 7…
- Open Adobe Reader.
- Go to File > Digital Editions > My Digital Editions.
- Locate the cover image of the eBook you wish to delete. Click on the clock in the upper-right corner of the cover image.
A dialog box is displayed that shows the eBook expiration date.
- Click the 'Delete' button.
To delete an expired Adobe eBook file using Adobe Reader 6…
- Open Adobe Reader.
- Go to File > My Bookshelf.
- Locate the cover image of the eBook you wish to delete. Click on the clock in the upper-right corner of the cover image.
A dialog box is displayed that shows the eBook expiration date.
- Click the 'Delete' button.
To delete an expired Mobipocket eBook file using Mobipocket 4 or 5...
- Open Mobipocket Reader and go to File > My Library.
- Locate the eBook you wish to delete. Click the 'Properties' link below the eBook.
A pop-up box will display information about the eBook.
- In the pop-up box, click the 'Delete' button.
To delete an expired Mobipocket eBook file using Mobipocket 6...
- Open Mobipocket Reader and select the 'eBooks' screen.
- Right-click on the eBook you wish to delete and select 'Delete'.
To delete an expired OverDrive Media Console™ file...
- Open OverDrive Media Console.
- Locate the item you wish to delete in the 'Media Library'. Single-click the title to select it, then click the 'Delete' button.

Can I return my items early?
Due to publisher licensing agreements, OverDrive Media titles cannot be returned early. They will automatically be returned at the end of the lending period.

If you are using Adobe Digital Editions…
- Open Adobe Digital Editions.
- Select the 'Library View' icon (in the upper left corner).
The Adobe Digital Editions library is displayed.
- Under the 'Bookshelves' heading, select 'Borrowed'.
- Click the eBook you want to return.
- Click the 'Item Options' arrow (in the upper left corner of the selected eBook).
- Select 'Return Borrowed Item'.
- Click 'Return' to verify that you want to return the title.
The eBook is removed from your account and returned to the library collection.
If you are using Adobe Reader 7…
- Open Adobe Reader® and go to File > Digital Editions > My Digital Editions.
- Locate the cover image of the eBook you wish to return. Right-click on the cover image and chose the 'Return to Lender' option.
The 'Document Expiration' dialog box is displayed.
- In the 'Document Expiration' dialog box, click option 'Return to Lender'. Note that clicking option 'OK' will simply close the dialog box without returning the book.
The eBook is removed from your account and returned to the library collection.
If you are using Adobe Reader 6…
- Open Adobe Reader® and go to File > My Bookshelf.
- Locate the cover image of the eBook you wish to return. Right-click on the cover image and chose the 'Return to Lender' option.
The 'Document Expiration' dialog box is displayed.
- In the 'Document Expiration' dialog box, click option 'Return to Lender'. Note that clicking option 'OK' will simply close the dialog box without returning the book.
The eBook is removed from your account and returned to the library collection.

Can I renew the items I have checked out?
The items you have checked out cannot be renewed, but you can check them out again if they are available when your checkout expires.

If you are using Adobe Digital Editions…
After checking out your eBook a second time, you can download a new version of the file from this website. Note that the expired eBook may still be in your Adobe Digital Editions Library.

- Open Adobe Digital Editions.
- Select the 'Library View' icon (in the upper left corner).
The Adobe Digital Editions library is displayed.
- Under the 'Bookshelves' heading, select 'Borrowed'.

- Open Adobe Reader 7.
- Display your 'My Digital Editions' (File > Digital Editions > My Digital Editions).
- Locate the thumbnail image of the eBook.
- Right-click on the thumbnail and select 'Delete'.
- Open Windows Explorer and go to My Documents > My Digital Editions. Delete any copies of the title saved in this folder.
- Carry on with your second checkout. The remainder of the checkout and download process should proceed in the same manner as your original download.
If you are using Adobe Reader 6...
- Open Adobe Reader 6.
- Display your 'My Bookshelf' (File > My Bookshelf).
- Locate the thumbnail image of the eBook.
- Right-click on the thumbnail and select 'Delete'.
- Open Windows Explorer and go to My Documents > My eBooks. Delete any copies of the title saved in this folder.
- Carry on with your second checkout. The remainder of the checkout and download process should proceed in the same manner as your original download.
If you want to check out a Mobipocket Reader eBook again...
After checking out your Mobipocket Reader eBook a second time, download a new version of the file from this website.

After checking out your OverDrive Media Console title a second time, download a new version of the title from this website.

What happens when I place an item on hold?
The title you have placed on hold will be reserved for you to check out once it becomes available. When the title is available for you, you will receive an email with instructions on checking the item out. The item will be held for you for 3 days (starting when you are emailed notice that the title is available).

How many items can I place on hold at the same time?
You can place up to 7 titles on hold at a given time.

Once a title that I have placed on hold becomes available for me to check out, how much time do I have to check out the title before my hold expires?
Once the title you have placed on hold becomes available for check out, you will receive an email indicating the title is available. If 3 days elapse from the time you are emailed this notice, and you have yet to check out the title, the title is returned to the library collection, making it available to other patrons at your library.

How do I cancel a hold?
To cancel a hold, please take the following steps:
- From any page, choose the 'eMedia Account' button.
- Log in to your account.
- Click the 'Request Title' link.
The list of titles that you have currently placed on hold is displayed.
- Click the 'Remove' link next to the title in which you are no longer interested.
This action cancels your hold.

How do I change the email address that I entered when I placed my hold?
To change your email address, follow these steps:
- From any page, click the 'eMedia Account' link.
- Log in to your account.
The 'eMedia Account' page is displayed.
- Click the 'Request Title' link.
The list of titles that you have currently placed on hold is displayed.
- Click the 'Edit' link next to the title for which you would like to change hold notification information.
You are prompted to edit holds information.
- In the 'Email address' field, enter the new email at which you would like to notified of the availability of your holds.
- Confirm your new email address by entering the new email address in the 'Confirm Email address' field.
- Click 'Submit'.
Your email address is updated. A message is displayed stating that you will receive an email when the title becomes available for checkout.

What is 'My Wish List'?
When you come across a title that you are interested in checking out, including titles that have not yet been released, you can click 'add to Wish List' to place the title on your 'My Wish List'.

To remove a title from 'My Wish List', click 'Sign In' to sign in to your account, and click the 'My Wish List' link. Click the 'Remove' link for the title you wish to remove from 'My Wish List'.

How do I check out a title from 'My Wish List'?
If a title on 'My Wish List' is available for check out, click the 'add to eMedia Bag' button. Your 'eMedia Bag' is displayed. Click 'Proceed to Checkout' to check out the title.

After I check out a title will it be removed from 'My Wish List'?
No. Titles remain on 'My Wish List' after they are checked out so that you may reference them again if desired.
To remove a title from 'My Wish List', click 'Sign In' to sign in to your account, and click the 'My Wish List' link. Click the 'Remove' link for the title you wish to remove from 'My Wish List'.

Why can I add some titles to 'My Wish List' but not to 'eMedia Bag'?
Titles that have a future release date (the date on which the publisher releases a given title in a given format) may be added to 'My Wish List' but not to 'eMedia Bag'. These titles cannot be checked out until they are released.

What is a 'release date'?
A release date is the date on which the publisher releases a title in a given format.

A title on 'My Wish List' has a message stating that 'this title is no longer available for check out.' Why is the title no longer available?
Titles that have not yet been released are removed from 'My Wish List' in cases where publishers have delayed or postponed the release of the title, or when the title is otherwise made unavailable by the publisher or library.
